Jeff’s Sunday Morning Thoughts (Trump edition)

While we were out to eat last night, my friend Rob wanted to get my thoughts on whether or not this “Trump thing was for real”…

“He’s been leading for 6 months now, I think it’s absolutely real” I said.

“He’s hit a nerve among working- class Americans who are sick of politicians that promise the world and then turn their back on us.”

“I think he represents someone that will cut the B.S. and just get things done” I said

“I can see that” Rob replied.

I told Rob that I don’t think most politicians understand how angry and frustrated the American people are right now…

The price of everything keeps going up, while people’s hours are being cut.  There’s a sense that the economy and the stock market are due for a massive tumble.  Terrorists are making our great country look weak.

And to top it off, you have the Washington elite who’s so out of touch with us regular folk, that they don’t really understand what we’re going through.

I think Trump has capitalized on all of that.

Whether Trump gets the Republican nomination or not, I think he’s good for the race.

Because he’s not basing his entire platform on voter polls and then pandering to those people (like Hillary)

He’s actually bringing new ideas to the forefront that your run-of-the-mill politician would never bring up.

And that’s good for the country.

Republicans have had enough of the Jeb Bushes and John McCain’s of the world.

We don’t need another “business as usual” candidate.

Our country is in real trouble right now.

That’s why I think Trump’s enthusiasm and no B.S. approach has really caught on.

With Iowa & New Hampshire right around the corner, it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out…

Alright, that’s all from me on this chilly Sunday.

God bless,
