I’m not here to scold you with this letter.
Because if anyone falls into the 10% who do this important thing with their diets, you probably do.
But still… there’s a 9 in 10 chance that we need to have a talk.
You see, a new report from the CDC shows that barely anyone is eating enough fruits and veggies to stay healthy.
And if you live in Tennessee or Mississippi… the numbers are in the low single digits.
I don’t have to tell you that eating sufficient fruits and vegetables is great for your heart, your weight, your brain, your joints… I mean, I could go on all day about this.
And I’ve been known to do that.
These numbers are bad folks, and the real truth… is even worse.
Because the CDC guidelines are for the bare minimum to keep you healthy.
Sure, the government is like that blind squirrel that finds a nut occasionally. And telling you to eat more fruits & veggies is good advice.
But 1.5 cups of fruits and 2 cups of vegetables is not enough.
Not to get you to peak health, and get you out and really living.
With more energy. Less inflammation. And feeling the best you possibly can, each and every day.
So it’s time to stage an intervention.
Dedicate yourself to upping your intake. Starting today.
We need to stop thinking of vegetables as a side dish and more of an equal course on our plates. Fill at least HALF your plate with fruits and veggies…
Load up on all forms – fresh, dried, even frozen…
Include a salad with your lunch or dinner…
Snack on veggies when cravings strike…
Add loads of veggies into soups, stews, beans, sauces… wherever you can cram them.
